Casa d'Arte

Experience the authentic heart of Monopoli at Casa d'Arte, a beautifully restored apartment that serves as your private gallery in the center of the city. Situated on the second floor of a classic building on Vico San Cosmo, this unique residence invites you to slow down and savor the Puglian lifestyle. The interior is a masterful study in color and texture, where white-washed exposed brick walls meet warm wooden accents and sophisticated mid-century modern furniture. The living area is designed for relaxation, featuring a vibrant mustard yellow sofa, an olive green armchair, and curated art that creates an inspiring atmosphere for your morning coffee or evening wind-down. Transitioning through elegant wooden doors, you will find a serene bedroom anchored by a striking forest green accent wall and a dark wood platform bed, ensuring peaceful nights after days spent exploring the nearby beaches and historic cathedral domes. The kitchen is a colorful culinary haven, boasting deep blue cabinetry, natural wood countertops, and a charming farmhouse-style sink, fully equipped for those who wish to prepare meals using fresh local ingredients. Every detail, from the patterned floor tiles to the rustic wooden vanity in the bathroom, reflects a deep appreciation for craftsmanship. However, the true jewel of the property is the expansive rooftop terrace. Framed by a wooden pergola with twinkling string lights, it offers the perfect Mediterranean setting to enjoy breakfast pastries or a glass of Italian wine while gazing over the iconic skyline of Monopoli. Whether you are reclining in the yellow chairs under the sun or enjoying the cool evening breeze, the terrace provides an immersive city experience unlike any other. Every amenity is thoughtfully included, from air conditioning and high-speed WiFi to a dedicated washing machine, ensuring your stay is as convenient as it is memorable. Immerse yourself in the art of Italian living at this one-of-a-kind urban retreat.

The location was outstanding — right in the heart of the old town and just a minute’s walk from the beautiful Basilica of Maria Santissima della Madia. This part of Monopoli felt genuinely local rather than overly touristy, which added so much charm to our stay. We had easy access to shops, restaurants, the historic port, and it was only around a 12‑minute walk to the train station. The property itself was very spacious, and we really appreciated having a comfortable seating area to relax in. The bed was extremely comfortable and we slept very well. Air conditioning in both the bedroom and living area was a real bonus, and the glazing completely blocked any noise from outside. We also loved having access to the roof terrace — a fantastic spot to unwind. Although the hosts were genuinely lovely and welcoming, we did feel that some aspects of the property would have benefitted from a little more care, which did detract from our overall experience. When we arrived, we were tired and hoping for a shower, but only two small hand towels had been provided. This was eventually resolved, but it took over 24 hours. The Wi‑Fi was connecting but not functioning properly, which meant we couldn’t access anything on the TV; we managed to sort this ourselves in the end. The shower also leaked quite heavily, leaving the bathroom floor flooded each time it was used, and unfortunately this wasn’t resolved during our stay. We also found the finishes a little sparse, and in contrast to other properties we stayed in, only one pillow per guest, there were no basic provisions as a welcome pack on arrival. While not essential, these small touches would have made the stay feel more cared for. A few minor issues — such as a missing light bulb and some noticeable dust — added to the impression that the property could benefit from a bit more attention to detail. For awareness rather than criticism, the property is on the second floor and accessed via two steep flights of stairs. This may be challenging for anyone with mobility difficulties or when carrying luggage, though we understand this is typical of buildings in the old town.

Appartement spacieux avec une belle déco. Extrêmement bien situé. La saleté des tiroirs de la cuisine. L'évacuation de l'eau de la douche : inondation de la salle de bain. Conseil : Mettre des lampes de chevet à chaque lit.

All was fine, at the end we couldn't stay in this accommodation due to heavy rain and some small temporal water damage (in the house, not in the appartment). Anyway, the owner was very communicative and we quickly got refunded all costs without any problems.
